Credit Card API
in Madagascar

Many sites ask for a “credit card” when any Visa or Mastercard will do. The Eisy card API lets businesses in Madagascar issue Visa and Mastercard virtual USD cards that pay wherever those networks are accepted. They are not credit cards: each card is funded from your business wallet, so there is no credit line, no underwriting and no interest.

Why businesses in Madagascar build on Eisy

  • •Many people and businesses in Madagascar cannot get a credit card that works abroad; a funded Visa or Mastercard USD card is accepted on the same networks.
  • •No credit checks, no underwriting and no repayments to collect: a card spends only what you load onto it.
  • •Issue a card per user, per purchase or per subscription, and terminate it when it is no longer needed.
  • •Every authorisation, settlement, decline and refund arrives as a signed webhook.

Where cards are used in Madagascar

FAQs about cards instead of credit

1

Who can use the Eisy card API in Madagascar?

Registered businesses in Madagascar and elsewhere. You apply for a merchant (business) account, complete business verification (KYB), and your account is reviewed before API keys are issued.

2

Which card networks and currency are supported?

Visa and Mastercard virtual cards denominated in US dollars. Every card is funded from your business USD wallet.

3

Do card holders need to verify their identity?

Yes. Each card holder completes a quick ID and selfie check before cards can be issued to them. You can run this from your dashboard or through the API.

4

How do I know when a card is used?

Webhooks. You receive signed events when a card is issued, funded, authorised, settled, declined, reversed, refunded, blocked or terminated, with automatic retries if your endpoint is down.

5

What does it cost?

Pricing is set per business: a card creation fee, a funding fee (flat or percentage), and termination and decline fees. The fees for your account are shown in your merchant dashboard and before every action you confirm.

6

Are these real credit cards?

No. They are Visa and Mastercard virtual cards funded from your business USD wallet, not a credit line. They work at merchants that accept those networks, but there is no borrowing, interest or credit limit; each card spends only what is loaded onto it.

7

Will a merchant that asks for a credit card accept them?

Most merchants accept any Visa or Mastercard card. A few, such as some car hire or hotel deposits, insist on a credit card specifically, so try a small charge first.

8

Can the cards pay merchants that charge in MGA?

Yes. The cards hold US dollars, and when a merchant charges in Malagasy ariary (MGA) or any other currency, Visa or Mastercard converts the amount to USD at the time of the transaction.
