Virtual Debit Card API
in Kazakhstan

If your wallet, neobank or remittance app in Kazakhstan holds money for users, a debit card lets them spend it. With the Eisy debit card API you issue each user a Visa or Mastercard virtual USD card, move their money onto it when they top up in your app, and pay every purchase from that card’s own balance, with no credit and no overdraft.

Why businesses in Kazakhstan build on Eisy

  • •Users in Kazakhstan spend only what is on their card, so there is no credit to underwrite and no debt to chase.
  • •Load a card from your business USD wallet in one API call, and read its balance and transactions at any time.
  • •A declined purchase never overdraws a card: if the balance is not there, the payment is declined and you get a webhook.
  • •Freeze, unfreeze or terminate a card in seconds; on termination any balance returns to your wallet.

FAQs about debit cards

1

Who can use the Eisy card API in Kazakhstan?

Registered businesses in Kazakhstan and elsewhere. You apply for a merchant (business) account, complete business verification (KYB), and your account is reviewed before API keys are issued.

2

Which card networks and currency are supported?

Visa and Mastercard virtual cards denominated in US dollars. Every card is funded from your business USD wallet.

3

Do card holders need to verify their identity?

Yes. Each card holder completes a quick ID and selfie check before cards can be issued to them. You can run this from your dashboard or through the API.

4

How do I know when a card is used?

Webhooks. You receive signed events when a card is issued, funded, authorised, settled, declined, reversed, refunded, blocked or terminated, with automatic retries if your endpoint is down.

5

What does it cost?

Pricing is set per business: a card creation fee, a funding fee (flat or percentage), and termination and decline fees. The fees for your account are shown in your merchant dashboard and before every action you confirm.

6

How is a debit card different from a prepaid card here?

The card is the same; the programme differs. A debit card is your user’s everyday card, topped up from the balance they hold in your app. A prepaid card is loaded by you with an amount you choose, such as a reward, allowance or payout.

7

How do the debit cards get their money?

You load each card from your business USD wallet, through the dashboard or the API. Purchases are paid from the card’s balance, and you can withdraw unused funds back to the wallet.

8

Can a card go into a negative balance?

No. A purchase larger than the card’s balance is declined, and you receive a card.transaction.declined webhook.

9

Can the cards pay merchants that charge in KZT?

Yes. The cards hold US dollars, and when a merchant charges in Kazakhstani tenge (KZT) or any other currency, Visa or Mastercard converts the amount to USD at the time of the transaction.
